Terms of Service

1. Agreement to terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you ("you," "User") and Aerovant Technologies Private Limited, an Indian company ("Aerovant," "we," "us") regarding your use of ThreatReady, our cybersecurity hiring assessment platform accessible at threatready.io (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you confirm you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Definitions

Account

Your registered access to the Service, tied to an email address.

Content

All scenarios, architecture diagrams, questions, rubrics, model answers, badges, reports, and other materials we provide through the Service.

Your Submissions

Text, answers, and other content you submit during assessments.

B2C User

An individual who subscribes to the Service for personal use.

Business Customer

An organization that subscribes under our Team, Team Pro, or Enterprise plans.

Candidate

An individual invited by a Business Customer to take an assessment.

3. Your account

To use most features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current information (including a valid email)
• Keep your password confidential and not share accounts
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• Notify us immediately at [email protected] of any unauthorized access

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or appear to be created fraudulently.

4. Subscription plans & payment

4.1 Free trial

We offer a free trial that includes two (2) Beginner scenarios with no credit card required. After your trial is consumed, your account remains active but further assessment access requires a paid plan.

4.2 Paid plans

Paid plans are described on our pricing page. Fees are in Indian Rupees (INR) unless otherwise stated. GST is applied where required. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing cycle.

4.3 Refunds

B2C subscriptions: we offer a 7-day refund window on initial purchases. After that, no refunds are issued for unused time. B2B subscriptions: refunds are governed by the order form or master subscription agreement.

4.4 Price changes

We may change pricing for future billing cycles. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before any price change applies to your account. If you disagree, you may cancel before the new price takes effect.

5. Intellectual property

5.1 Our IP

The Service, including all scenarios, architecture diagrams, questions, scoring rubrics, model answers, software, trademarks, and documentation, is owned by Aerovant Technologies and protected by copyright, trademark, and trade-secret laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service solely for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms.

5.2 Your Submissions

You retain ownership of Your Submissions. By submitting them, you grant Aerovant a worldwide, royalty-free license to use them solely for (a) providing the Service to you, (b) improving scoring accuracy through anonymized analysis, and (c) complying with legal obligations. We will not use Your Submissions to train third-party AI models, and we will not publish them without your consent.

5.3 Your outputs

Scores, reports, and badges produced for you are yours to use, share, and display. Business Customers may use candidate reports for their internal hiring processes.

5.4 Feedback

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.

6. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Share, copy, screenshot, record, or redistribute scenario content, questions, model answers, or rubrics outside your personal use
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service
• Use automated tools, scrapers, or bots to access the Service
• Attempt to circumvent assessment integrity controls (copy-paste restrictions, forward-only navigation, timers)
• Impersonate another person or create an account on someone else's behalf without authorization
• Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm others
• Upload malware, conduct denial-of-service attacks, or probe the Service for vulnerabilities outside our responsible disclosure program (see Security)
• Use the Service to violate applicable law, including export controls or sanctions
• Resell, sublicense, or white-label the Service without a written agreement

Violation of this section may result in immediate account termination without refund and may be referred to law enforcement.

7. AI evaluation & assessment integrity

ThreatReady uses large-language-model AI (Anthropic's Claude API) to evaluate your answers against our published rubric. You acknowledge and agree:

• AI evaluation is disclosed to you before each assessment begins
• Scores are directional indicators of performance — not absolute truth. We publish the scoring rubric publicly so you can understand how your score was derived
• You may challenge a score by contacting [email protected] within 14 days of receipt. Challenge response SLA is 7 business days
• We do not guarantee specific hiring outcomes — whether you or your candidate is hired is solely the decision of the hiring organization

Assessment integrity controls (copy-paste disabled, forward-only navigation, random architecture selection, adaptive questioning) are designed to ensure fair evaluation. Attempts to bypass them will invalidate your score and may result in account termination.

8. Business customer terms

If you subscribe as a Business Customer, the following additional terms apply:

• Data Processing Agreement: Our DPA forms part of these Terms for all candidate data you process through the Service
• Seat limits: Each plan includes a maximum number of hiring-manager seats and a monthly candidate-assessment allowance. Overage may be billed separately
• Candidate notice: You are responsible for obtaining any required consent from candidates before sending them an assessment invitation, and for providing them accurate information about how their data will be used
• No warranties about specific candidates: Scores reflect the candidate's performance on the specific scenario. We make no representations about a candidate's overall fitness, truthfulness, or future performance

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AEROVANT TECHNOLOGIES DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ASSESSMENT SCORES WILL MEET ANY SPECIFIC ACCURACY THRESHOLD.

Hiring and retention decisions are the sole responsibility of the hiring organization. ThreatReady scores are one input among many and must not be used as the sole basis for employment decisions.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AEROVANT TECHNOLOGIES'S AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ₹10,000. IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, OR DATA, EVEN IF WE WERE ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Aerovant Technologies and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your misuse of the Service, (c) for Business Customers, any claim by a candidate arising from your use of the Service in connection with your hiring process.

12. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay, or if required by law. On termination:

• Your license to use the Service ends immediately
• We will delete or return your personal data per our Privacy Policy
• Accrued payment obligations and Sections 5, 9, 10, 11, 13 survive termination

13. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us at [email protected] and attempt to resolve the dispute in good faith for at least 30 days.

14. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email to registered users at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, your only remedy is to stop using the Service.
